Detective Sgt. Millard Williams of Youngstown, one of the city police officers killed in the line of duty, died April 14, 1992, three weeks shy of his 40th birthday. A story in Tuesday's editions had an incorrect age. Williams was born May 7, 1952.
In the 1927 shooting death of Patrol Officer Henry Clemens, three men were arrested. Vindicator files show Arthur Hutcheson pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter; Oakley Ross was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole; and Cecil Bell was sentenced to one to 20 years in prison. The Tuesday story reported that no one had been arrested.
