TORONTO -- Toronto overcame a seven-run deficit, scoring six runs in the ninth inning as Mike MacDougal blew a save chance for the first time this season. Toronto trailed 8-1 before scoring one run in the seventh and two in the eighth. Mike Bordick's single tied it against MacDougal (1-1), who had been 9-for-9 in save chances, and the winning run scored on an error by shortstop Angel Berroa. Cliff Politte (1-2) got one out for the win.
Rangers 10, Yankees 7
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Alex Rodriguez went 5-for-5 with six RBIs, one short of his career high, giving manager Buck Showalter his first win against his former team. Rodriguez hit a two-run double that tied it at 4 in the fourth. An inning later, his three-run double capped a five-run outburst. Ugueth Urbina got his eighth save when pinch-hitter Jason Giambi hit into a game-ending double play.
Mariners 4, Tigers 3
SEATTLE -- Freddy Garcia (2-3) won for the first time since April 6, allowing three runs and four hits in seven innings while striking out six. Detroit dropped to 3-20, the worst start in team history. Arthur Rhodes pitched the eighth and got one batter out in the ninth before Jeff Nelson got two outs for his second save.
White Sox 3, Twins 1
CHICAGO -- Esteban Loaiza (5-0) allowed one run and six hits in seven innings as Chicago won for the second time in the emotional three-game series. Damaso Marte finished the six-hitter for his first save. Rick Reed (1-4) gave up just three runs and three hits in seven innings, combining with Eddie Guardado on a three-hitter. Jose Valentin homered in the first.
Orioles 7, Devil Rays 4
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Sidney Ponson (2-2) allowed three runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings, striking out seven. Deivi Cruz and Geronimo Gil had two RBIs each for Baltimore, which has won eight of 12. Rey Ordonez hit a run-scoring double, giving him a team-high 19 RBIs, as the Devil Rays came up short in their bid to sweep a series for the first time since taking three games from Detroit to open the 2002 season.
Red Sox 6, Angels 4, 14 innings
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Pinch-hitter David Ortiz and Jason Varitek opened the 14th inning with home runs on consecutive pitches. Manny Ramirez homered and drove in three runs for the Red Sox. Pedro Martinez struck out 10 in seven innings and left leading 4-2, but the Boston bullpen cost him a win for the second time this season. Garret Anderson hit an RBI double in the eighth off Brandon Lyon and Bengie Molina tied it with an RBI single off Chad Fox in the ninth.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Cardinals 7, Marlins 6
MIAMI -- Fernando Vina hit an RBI single in the 20th inning off Carl Pavano (2-3), ending the longest game in the major leagues since Minnesota beat Cleveland 5-4 in 22 innings on Aug. 31, 1993. Vina was 0-for-9 before his hit. The game took 6 hours, 7 minutes, and a steady drizzle began in the 18th. The Cardinals took a 6-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth before Florida rallied for five runs as Mike Lowell, Luis Castillo and Ramon Castro homered.

NEW YORK -- Randy Johnson (1-2) came off the disabled list to strike out 12 in six innings for his 188th double-digit strikeout game, allowing two runs and nine hits. Brandon Webb (1-0) struck out 10 and gave up three hits in seven scoreless innings in the opener, his first major league start. Craig Counsell tied his career high with four RBIs in the opener. New York committed eight errors and struck out a major league-record 27 times on the day. Mark Grace drove in four runs in the second game, hitting a two-run homer off Armando Benitez.

ATLANTA -- Marcus Giles had three hits and two RBIs as Atlanta won for the 11th time in 13 games. Javy Lopez homered and Chipper Jones had two hits and three RBIs.
Astros 6, Expos 3
MONTREAL -- Jeff Bagwell hit his major league-leading 10th home run and Jeff Kent hit a three-run shot, helping Houston stop a four-game losing streak. Octavio Dotel pitched the ninth for his first save as Houston finished 4-9 on its longest trip in 10 years.
Reds 7, Padres 5
CINCINNATI -- Paul Wilson (1-2) got his first win for Cincinnati, beating San Diego for the first time in six career decisions. Wilson (1-2) gave up three homers, including two by Ryan Klesko, allowing three runs and eight hits in seven innings. Scott Williamson pitched the ninth for his fifth save.
Rockies 6, Cubs 3
DENVER -- Darren Oliver (1-2) won for the first time in nearly a year, allowing three runs and five hits in seven innings. Charles Johnson had a homer and four RBIs as Colorado improved to 10-2 at Coors Field. Jay Payton's infield single drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh, and Jose Jimenez pitched the ninth for his sixth save.
