2 robotics teams to head to finals

GIRARD -- Robotics teams from Girard and Warren G. Harding high schools have qualified for national competition.
The teams competed this weekend in Pittsburgh at the FIRST Robotics Regional Competition. The finals will be April 9 in Houston.
Girard also captured the Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & amp; Byers Entrepreneurship Award that recognizes their efforts at spreading the word about FIRST Robotics through community involvement, fund raising and the businesslike manner of running the team.
Harding won the Motorola Quality Award.
FIRST, which stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, has 23 regional competitions across the United States and Canada involving more than 1,500 teams from the United States, Canada, Brazil, and the United Kingdom.
Girard's team is without a corporate sponsor this year and is seeking sponsorship and engineering assistance for next year.
