GROVE CITY COLLEGE Economist appointed to board of trustees

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Noted economist Dr. Walter E. Williams has been named to the board of trustees at Grove City College.
Williams is the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., and has served on the faculties of Los Angeles City College, California State University-Los Angeles and Temple University in Philadelphia. He is also an adjunct professor of economics at Grove City College.
Williams, a Philadelphia native, holds a bachelor's degree in economics from California State University and master's and doctorate degrees in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Grove City College presented him with an honorary doctor of humane letters degree in 1992.
He is the author of more than 80 publications in scholarly journals and has appeared on national television and radio programs. He also writes a weekly syndicated column, "A Minority View."
He has received numerous fellowships and awards for his work in the field of economics and is frequently called upon to give expert testimony before congressional committees on public policy issues ranging from labor policy to taxation and spending.
Williams is on the board of directors of Citizens for a Sound Economy, the Reason Foundation and the Hoover Institution.
