On Tuesday night, the fourth-ranked Gators looked like they've been listening. "We're getting there, but we still have a lot of things we need to correct," guard Justin Hamilton said after Florida shot 78 percent in the second half and pulled away to a 96-63 rout of South Carolina. "I think tonight was a step in the right direction," Hamilton said. "We just need to continue to improve and keep our focus on defense and rebounding because our offense will take care of itself, provided guys make the extra pass." Matt Bonner scored 18 points and David Lee had 17 to pace a balanced attack. The Gators scored 61 points in the second half, the school's second-most ever against a Southeastern Conference opponent, and the margin of victory was their largest in a league game under Donovan. "If we don't build on this, it would be a shame," Donovan said. Lee was 7-for-8 from the field and the backcourt of Hamilton and Anthony Roberson shot 8-for-12 and had 22 points for Florida. The bench did its part, too, with Bonell Colas scoring 11 points and Christian Drejer adding 10. Florida (23-4, 11-2) has won a school-record 19 straight home games and surpassed its win total for last season. The Gators also equaled the school mark for most victories during the regular season set in 1993-94 and matched three years ago.

Ryan Randle scored 18 points and Steve Blake added 14 as the Terrapins (18-7, 10-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) ended their first season at Comcast Center with a 14-2 record. Drew Nicholas and Jamar Smith each had 13 points for the Terrapins, who have won four of five overall and beaten Clemson 11 straight times. Sharrod Ford had 12 points and Edward Scott added 11 for the Tigers (15-9, 5-8), who had won three straight.
