YOUNGSTOWN North Side man, 24, to face charge of trafficking in heroin



YOUNGSTOWN -- Police say they arrested an Alameda Avenue man Friday afternoon after they found him on the floor of a Shaw Avenue home next to 13 packages of heroin.
Darrick Alvarez, 24, is charged with trafficking in heroin. Police said they also found two packages of heroin and $190 in cash in Alvarez's pockets.
Search warrant
Reports state that members of the Youngstown Vice Squad and Mahoning Valley Drug Task Force approached the Shaw Avenue home with a search warrant about 5 p.m.
A man on the porch saw police and ran inside. Police chased him and then found Alvarez on the floor of a bathroom next to the heroin.
Reports do not say if the man on the porch was arrested.
