Buffalo gains 10-8 win over Columbus
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Luis Garcia's double snapped a 7-7 tie as the Buffalo Bisons rallied for a 10-8 win over the Columbus Clippers Thursday in the International League.
Jhonny Peralta added a two-run single to cap Buffalo's five-run rally in the eighth inning.
Columbus took a 7-5 lead in the eighth by scoring two runs without a hit as Buffalo pitchers issued five walks in the inning. The Clippers (35-45) added another run without a hit in the ninth, taking advantage of two walks and an error.
Victor Martinez had three hits and three RBIs for Buffalo (46-30), but was forced to leave the game in the ninth inning with a leg injury after a collision with Columbus' Jose Nieves at first base.
Bobby Smith and Nate Rolison had two RBIs each for Columbus.
Alex Herrera (4-4), the fourth of five Buffalo pitchers, got the win despite allowing one run in one-third of an inning. Chad Paronto got out of a jam Herrera created in the ninth inning to pick up his 11th save.
Columbus reliever Randy Choate (3-4) took the loss, allowing four earned runs in two-thirds of an inning.
