April 23, 1978: Nine representatives from three Mennonite churches consider developing a retirement home to serve the Leetonia, Midway and North Lima church areas.
Nov. 21, 1981: HUD approved construction of 50 units of housing to be known as Harmony Village Inc.
Oct. 3, 1982: Groundbreaking was held for the housing complex. Construction would take about 11 months and cost about $2.5 million.
Nov. 13, 1983: Harmony Village was dedicated, with 41 apartments occupied.
