With many years of experience, candy company comes to Warren

THE VINDICATOR, YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO
WARREN -- City officials are welcoming a new candy business to the area.
Officials met with Cluster Candy Co. representatives for a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday at Warren Commerce Park. The start-up candy wholesaler is making a $285,000 investment at the park, off of North River Road.
President William Scheppler and Vice President Mark Stanish come from Harry London Candies in Canton while Tom Faroh, a chocolate maker, comes from a candy-making company in Strongsville.
"They have years and years of experience in the candy business," said Michael D. Keys, community development director, adding that the effort to bring the company to Warren started about 1 1/2 years ago.
Tony Iannucci of Warren Redevelopment and Planning said the company will employ 10 to 15 people to start.
"They expect to start operating the first of September," Iannucci said.
Mayor Hank Angelo said the company expects to double in size within five years.
"Warren fights for every job it can get," Angelo said. "We work with all of them."
