XCLEVELAND -- Dr. Rebecca Ameduri and Dr. Sameer Gupta, both of 2579 Princeton Road, Cleveland Heights, were married by Suresh Joshi in a Hindu ceremony at 4:30 p.m. May 24 at the Palace Theatre, where a traditional Christian ceremony was performed afterward by the Rev. Michael Currier.
Parents of the couple are Gene and Kathleen Ameduri, 7935 Cliffview Drive, Poland, and Dr. Ghanshyam and Geeta Gupta of Gaithersburg, Md.
After a reception at the theatre, the couple left for a honeymoon at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. They live at the Cleveland Heights address.
The bride's pale-peach satin Hindu wedding gown was enhanced with embroidery and beading. For the traditional ceremony, she wore a satin gown styled with a box-pleated skirt and a chapel train, and was escorted by her father.
Gowned in black were Rachel Hazelwood, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Elizabeth Bellantoni and Dr. Kasia Petelenz. Flower girl was Nikhita Jain.
Sunil Gupta was best man, and Dr. Apurva Shah, Scott Castelli and Dr. Mohit Virmani were groomsmen. Dhruv Jain was bindayak, and the usher was Scott Ameduri.
The bride, who is retaining her maiden name, graduated from Case Western Reserve University. The groom graduated from CWRU and the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is a resident in pediatrics and he is a fellow in pediatric intensive care at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, Cleveland.
