Niles woman in court after attack on 2

NILES -- A Beaver Avenue woman was silent Wednesday as her case was sent from municipal court to a Trumbull County grand jury.
Terri L. Martin, 38, is charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated burglary and one count of drug abuse.
Martin appeared with her attorney but said nothing when Judge Thomas W. Townley ordered her $10,000 bond continued.
Police say Martin forced her way into the Beaver Avenue home of an older couple, Joseph and Grace Balogh, the night of June 17, grabbed a knife and a pair of scissors and threatened to kill the couple. Authorities do not have the ages of the couple.
Martin reportedly shoved Balogh, who hit his head on a door, and held his wife at bay with the weapons.
Balogh was in stable condition in St. Joseph Medical Center Wednesday. His wife attended Wednesday's hearing with relatives.
Police say Grace Balogh gave Martin $300 in an attempt to get her to leave the home, but Martin instead went to an upstairs bedroom and searched it for more than an hour.
When police arrived later they found a pillowcase with rolls of quarters, loose change and jewelry behind a garage at Martin's home, which Grace Balogh identified as her property.
When Martin was arrested at a house on Clay Street, police found prescription pill bottles with Joseph Balogh's name on them, marijuana and a suspected crack pipe.
Additional charges may be filed.
