NANCY HUGHESGARY CHRISTAFANO
XYOUNGSTOWN -- Nancy Marie Hughes, 1207 S. Braddock, Pittsburgh, and Gary Christafano, 100 Bryn Mawr Court, Pittsburgh, were married at 2:30 p.m. June 7 at St. Columba Cathedral. Presiding were the bride's great-uncles, retired Bishop William A. Hughes and Deacon Salvatore DiFranceso, and Monsignor Lawrence Fye.
The daughter of Richard and Patricia Hughes, 10540 Unity Road, New Middletown, and the son of James and Gloria Christafano, 40 Penn St., Manor, Pa., were honored during a reception at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman. After a honeymoon in the Bahamas, they live in Pittsburgh.
The bride's A-line Italian silk gown was embellished with crystals and rhinestone rosettes. She wore her grandmother's 1945 orange blossom and pearl headpiece and a cathedral veil.
Michele Olin and Anne Marie Colaprete were honor attendants, and bridesmaids were Annette Hinrichs, Angela Olin, Maureen Carney, Lauren Cerqua, Lisa Disso and Debbie Christafano. They wore Victorian lilac gowns.
James Christafano was best man, and groomsmen were Richard Hughes, Anthony Hughes, Michael Hughes, Eric Robert, Flynn McCall and Christopher Oppman. Ring bearer was Thomas Christafano.
The bride graduated from Duquesne University with a bachelor's degree in communications. She is a senior processor with CFS Home Loans in Pittsburgh.
The groom, an office manager with CFS Home Loans, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in finance.
