MERCER COUNTY Woman gets 6-18 months in jail for stabbing man



A 19-year-old man will do time for, among other crimes, stealing ice cream.

MERCER, Pa. -- A stabbing netted a woman a jail term in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
Judge Thomas Dobson sentenced Brandi Boulding, 28, of Wallis Avenue, Sharon, to six to 18 months in jail for recklessly endangering another person for stabbing a man in the abdomen with a 3-inch knife Sept. 28 at her home.
The victim's wounds required emergency surgery. Boulding was also given one-year's probation for possessing instruments of a crime for the knife.
The judge also ordered her to perform 75 hours' community service for disorderly conduct for struggling with Sharon police officers while being arrested and kicking out the patrol car's rear window. She was given 98 days' credit for time served.
The judge also sentence several other people earlier this week:
U Jeffrey Miller, 19, whose address was listed as the county jail, was sentenced to two to four years in jail followed by five years' probation for a variety of burglaries and other offenses last fall.
They included a burglary at Candi Sue Auto Detailing, West Main Street, Grove City, where he took $84 worth of snacks and other items and also did $1,130 damage by destroying a cash register.
He also took a boat motor, stereo with speakers, battery chargers and two 12-volt batteries from a travel trailer on Tower Road, Pine Township. Police also found him in possession of a tub of ice cream and 10 candy bars from Katie's Korners ice cream shop on George Junior Road, Pine Township. He also pried open the doors of a construction trailer at Orchard Manor Nursing Home on state Route 58, Pine Township; broke a window at a residence on Gill Road, Pine Township; and damaged two doors on a travel trailer and stole a pickup truck from Diamond Road, Pine Township.
He also had stolen drill bits and a drill, saw blades and a cell phone. The judge ordered Miller to make thousands of dollars of restitution to his victims.
U Lowell Jones, no age given, of Bane Street, Warren, Ohio, was placed on two years' probation and ordered to pay restitution for felony retail theft for stealing four cartons of cigarettes worth $85 from Shop-N-Save on East State Street, Hermitage in May 2000.
U Robert Palmer, 51, of Prindle Street, Sharon, was sentenced to 15 to 30 months in prison for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. He was apprehended in November at an Alderman Avenue address, Sharon, with the drug. He was given credit for 155 days already served and ordered to make restitution to the Pennsylvania State Police lab.
U David Piatt, 42, of Holly Lane, Hermitage, was placed on one year's probation for retail theft for taking a $50 game cartridge from Wal-Mart in Hermitage in August.
U Leanna May Root, 19, of Sterling Avenue, Sharon, was placed on one year's probation for simple assault for an attack on another woman last September. Court documents say she grabbed the woman by the hair, threw her to the ground, then kicked and punched her several times, injuring the victim's eye. The judge also ordered her to perform 25 hours of community service.
U Michelle Shoulders, no address and age given, was placed on one year's probation for theft and ordered to make restitution for stealing $1,500 worth of goods from a Chestnut Avenue, Sharon, business between February and June 2002.
