Army & amp; Navy Union holds encampment

HUDSON -- The Department of Ohio Army & amp; Navy Union U.S.A. held its 85th encampment June 19-22 at the Holiday Inn.
The following new auxiliary officers were installed during the event: Sharon Lissimore of Niles 422, president; Corrine Walser of Canton 150, senior vice president; Patricia Cochron, junior vice president; Darline McKenzie of Canton 150, treasurer; Nancy Reed of Stow, secretary; Mary Tanner of Canton 150, patriotic instructor; Lynn Cowlers of Niles 422, color one; Carolyn Murphy of Youngstown 29, color 2; and Jackie Baun of Youngstown 29, vocalist.
Steve Kowlyk and Kathryn Bonder Horn, both of Akron, were honored as man and woman of the year, respectively, and Chuck Wells was installed as new commander.
Betty Davis of Akron was recognized for having 50 years of membership in the organization.
Attending the event from Youngstown were Nancy Weimer and Pat Baun.
