Drug-charge arrests made
BOARDMAN -- Three Crestline Place residents were arrested on various drug charges. Paul J. Rosenburg Jr., 26; Stacie A. Rosenburg, 23; and Jeffrey J. Puccini, 39, are each charged with felony trafficking in drugs, cultivating marijuana and possession of a Schedule 1 narcotic. They are also each charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Police reports say officers searched the Crestline address Wednesday, and found 85 marijuana plants, marijuana packed for sale and hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Annual Watershed Ride
CANFIELD -- The second annual Mill Creek Park Watershed Ride will be Aug. 10. Bicyclists will ride approximately 30 miles from Canfield Township to the headwaters of Mill Creek, south of Columbiana. Registration is $10, which includes the cost of a light lunch. Commemorative T-shirts may be ordered. Deadline for registration is Aug. 1. The event is sponsored by AWARE (Alliance for Watershed Action and Riparian Easements), Mahoning Soil and Water Conservation District, Mill Creek MetroParks, Youngstown State University and Outspokin' Wheelmen. Police seek trash dumpers
AUSTINTOWN -- Police are looking for the person who dumped a pile of trash on Bundy Lane the day before the township closed the road.
The township road superintendent told police that road crews arrived on Bundy Lane on Wednesday to erect a locked gate when they found the trash that hadn't been there the day before.
Township trustees voted to close the road earlier this month in an effort to stop dumping on the road. Mahoning and Trumbull County health department officials had also requested that the road be closed.
2 face firearms charges
CLEVELAND -- A federal grand jury has indicted two Youngstown men on firearms charges, the U.S. Attorney said. Jumal McQueen, 42, of Summer Street is charged with possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a felony and possessing an unregistered sawed-off shotgun. Anthony Pugh, 29, of Dogwood Lane is charged with possessing firearms following a felony conviction for armed robbery.
Coroner: Drugs killed man
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Mark A. McNulty, 40, of Lafayette Street, Sharon, died of a combined drug intoxication of cocaine and morphine.
Cris Loutzenhiser, Mercer County deputy coroner, said a toxicology study showed a lethal combination of the drugs in McNulty's system. He ruled the death accidental.
McNulty's body was found along Lynnwood Drive on June 6, and police earlier this week arrested Emce A. Jones, 41, of Parke Drive on a charge of abuse of a corpse and criminal conspiracy in the case.
Jones acknowledged that McNulty died in his apartment and that he and another man dumped McNulty's body on Lynnwood Drive early June 5, police said.
Jones remained in Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Investigating teen's death
NEW WATERFORD -- The death of a 14-year-old New Waterford boy remains under investigation pending the results of an autopsy.
Fran Rudibaugh, Columbiana County Coroner's investigator, said the death of Derik Overly Jr. of Creek Road appears to be accidental.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
New Waterford Police Chief Dan Haueter said Derik's father found the boy on rocks under the Silliman Street bridge about 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The boy had been missing about an hour, Haueter said. He said Derik apparently was riding his bike over the Silliman Street bridge when he lost control and went either over the bridge guardrail or through an opening. He fell about 20 feet and suffered head injuries.
Teen died of heart ailment
MECCA -- A 16-year-old girl who was found dead in her back yard died of a rare heart ailment, the Trumbull County Coroner's Office said.
Kailee Oliver had a genetic heart ailment and died of natural causes, said Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk, the county's forensic pathologist, who performed an autopsy Wednesday.
The teen-ager was found around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday at her home at 1090 Housel-Craft Road.
