16-year-old Trumbull girl found dead in back yard
MECCA -- The Trumbull County Coroner's Office and the sheriff's department are investigating the death of a 16-year-old girl.
Sheriff Thomas Altiere said the girl was found dead in the back yard of her home at 1090 Housel-Craft Road.
According to 911 records, Kailee Oliver was found by relatives and neighbors around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday.
She was not breathing and had something in her mouth, 911 reports state.
The sheriff said the girl's mother told authorities the teen had complained of being ill the day before but then appeared to be better.
An autopsy was scheduled for today.
Gunshot victim dies in hospital; body sent away
WARREN -- Police are investigating the shooting death of a 22-year-old man.
Douglas Stubbs of Warren was shot in the neck Saturday at an Idylwild Street N.E. home and died Monday in a Youngstown hospital.
Police say Stubbs was shot by a woman who lived in the home.
No charges have been filed.
Police Chief John Mandopoulos said that because Stubbs died in Mahoning County, the coroner there sent the body to Columbus, even though he requested it be released to Trumbull County officials.
"We have a forensic pathologist here. We shouldn't have to pay to have our guys go to Columbus," Mandopoulos said.
Arthritis talk at Eastwood
NILES -- A free public forum is offered by the Arthritis Foundation from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Trumbull Memorial Hospital Community Health Connection in the Eastwood Mall.
Dr. David Brys will talk about the differences between rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
License equipment stolen, state patrol investigating
CHAMPION -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the burglary of the Champion License Bureau, 4447 Mahoning Ave.
Lt. George Williams, commander of the Southington post, said someone stole items that could be used to make driver's licenses.
"We have notified the FBI and are working with them," Williams said.
Troopers say the burglary occurred late Monday or early Tuesday.
The thieves entered through rear window after disabling the security system.
The state patrol investigates all crimes on state property.

NILES -- Atty. Jonathan Politi will discuss pet owners' responsibilities at tonight's session of Law at the Library series at 6:30 in McKinley Memorial Library.
Politi will review leash laws, health and nuisance laws, spaying and neutering programs, government agencies that enforce laws, agencies available for assistance and what legal remedies are available.
CIC money recovered
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Central Area Community Improvement Corp. has recovered nearly $40,000 stolen from the downtown development agency.
Reid Dulberger of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, declined to comment on how the money was recovered, citing a criminal investigation that started in April.
