Liberty asks businesses to beautify

LIBERTY -- The township and the Liberty Business Association are asking business owners to spruce up their properties.
Stephen J. Stoyak, LBA president, and township Administrator Patrick J. Ungaro are sending owners letters asking that they keep the grass mowed, plant flowers and mulch around signs "to make a statement to the community that you care about your business."
They also suggest building improvements such as upgrading fa & ccedil;ades and painting.
The township has been working to increase development on the commercial Belmont Avenue corridor.
In 2004, the Ohio Department of Transportation will install storm sewers, curbs and sidewalks. The interchange at Interstate 80 will also get improvements.
The LBA and Liberty in Bloom, two private organizations, are planning pedestrian oases and flowers in key areas throughout the township.
