Eight local players, coach set to participate in state all-star game

COLUMBUS -- Canfield High School's Mike Pavlansky will be coaching the North squad and eight local players when the 58th annual Ohio All-Star Classic -- the longest-running high school all-star football game in the country -- kicks off Saturday at 7 p.m. at Crew Stadium.
The game will include most of the state's top graduating players.
There are 68 players on both sides.
The North squad roster comprises local talent Keilen Dykes (Chaney, defensive lineman); Mike Villagrana (Boardman, defensive lineman); Kevin Tuminello (Boardman, center); Tom Zetts (Boardman, quarterback); Mike Kokal (Warren Harding, quarterback); Davanzo Tate (Austintown Fitch, secondary); Tim Dewberry (Canfield, secondary) and Terrence Graves (Ursuline, defensive back).
Dykes, Tate and Villagrana are headed to West Virginia University; Zetts and Dewberry are committed to YSU; Tuminello is signed to play at Georgia Tech; Kokal at Miami, Ohio; and Graves at Toledo.
The South squad coach is Curt Clifford of Portsmouth.
Pavlansky's selection will mark the second family member to coach in the all-star game. Mike's father, Dave, was an assistant for North head coach Tom Batta for the 1972 contest.
Dave Pavlansky passed away in November, 1978.
