A FIRST FOR OHIO: Cancer survivors walk around the track at Campbell Memorial High School, above, in the first Hispanic Relay for Life in Ohio. The track was lined with luminarias bearing the names of cancer victims. The event, a 24-hour walk, began at 6 p.m. Friday and runs until 6 p.m. today. The Relay for Life is the signature fund-raising event for the American Cancer Society. In addition to raising funds, it raises awareness of cancer. Rita Lopez is the chairwoman of the Hispanic relay, and Virginia Hernandez is co-chairwoman. At right, Myrna Santiago of Canfield, a nine-year breast-cancer survivor, carries the torch during the survivor's lap, which traditionally starts Relay for Life events.
