2 honored for service
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ron Marian and Carolyn K. Mikanowicz were recipients of the sixth annual Public Service Award from Youngstown State University's Public Service Institute at a ceremony on campus this week.
The award is given to people at the university and in the community who make an impact on the Mahoning Valley by going above and beyond their duties.
Marian is the executive director of the Mahoning County Mental Health Board. He has been with the board for 28 years. Mikanowicz is a professor in the health professions department at YSU.
Sunny Estates meeting
NILES -- A special city council meeting regarding an ordinance for the Jamie Williams, Plat Number 1, Sunny Estates will be held at 8:45 a.m. Monday in the mayor's office. Additional meetings will also be held at the same time and place Tuesday and Wednesday if necessary.
