Italian restaurant to open at Avalon Inn next week
HOWLAND -- The Avalon Inn & amp; Resort will open a new, 90-seat Italian restaurant Monday, Ristorante Allora, the first phase of its 12-month restoration project announced in April.
The eatery, which replaces the former Tall Oaks restaurant, will be open for lunch Monday through Saturday and dinner Monday through Sunday. Robert Melone, formerly executive chef at the Neyla Mediterranean Grill in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, is executive chef at Ristorante Allora.
Serdar Dede, general manager of the 144-room inn, said the new restaurant is family-oriented with a menu featuring Northern Italian and Tuscan cuisine and American dishes.
Other renovations planned include a new entrance featuring a garden atrium, an upgrade and redesign of guest rooms, banquet and conference facilities, the public areas and landscaping. The inn will remain open during the renovation.
