Man faces murder chargein death of Warren man
WARREN -- Corey L. Bradley, 25, no street address listed, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a murder charge involving a homicide earlier in the day.
Detective Gary Vingle said Bradley was being held without bond in the Trumbull County jail pending arraignment today in municipal court.
Bradley is accused of killing Antonio Daniels early Wednesday. Daniels, 22, of Sixth St. S.W. was found shot once in the head outside 941 Oak St. S.W.
Police do not know the motive for the killing. Vingle said Bradley and Daniels knew each other.
Attempted theft at station
NILES -- Gas station clerks held a suspected robber until police arrived early today.
Police say Nicholas Ray Foster, 19, of Poplar Street, entered McQuaid's Sunoco on Vienna Avenue and assaulted a clerk as he tried to flee with three cases of beer.
Foster knocked the male employee to the ground, who managed to hold onto Foster until police arrived about 2 a.m.
A second report shows a similar encounter took place around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dairy Mart on South Main Street. Employees there told police a man stole beer from the cooler.
Teen driving car strikes,injures Pizza Hut worker
NEWTON FALLS -- A 21-year-old Pizza Hut employee was in serious condition this morning after being hit by a car.
A police department spokeswoman said Jennifer Smith of Newton Falls was flown to Akron General Hospital after being struck by April Parker, 18, about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said Parker was in the drive-through lane picking up a pizza when she hit the gas instead of the brake and struck Smith, who was smoking in the parking lot.
No charges have been filed.
School board to meet
McDONALD -- The school board will meet in special session at 7:15 p.m. Monday to hire a boys basketball coach and possibly some assistant coaches.
Ed Dolsak, head coach from 2001 through 2003, has informed the board he does not wish to be reappointed to the position, citing personal reasons.
Councilman's office hours
WARREN -- Councilman Robert Holmes III, D-4th, will conduct office hours at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hippodrome, 150 High St. N.E.
Some items that will be reviewed are results of Holmes' tire collection, a 38-percent sewer rate increase requested by the administration, demolition of boarded up houses and high grass.
Viets Museum featuresbridal gallery, kids' room
CORTLAND -- The new bridal gallery and children's room in the Viets Museum here will be open during weekly house tours beginning Sunday.
The gallery has about a dozen wedding gowns from the turn of the century through the 1970s and a Japanese wedding kimono on loan.
The children's room features antique toys, an 1850s cradle and a large collection of dolls from the Ula Elston collection.
The museum at 224 N. High St. is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
Cancer benefit show
CHAMPION -- The 11th annual Breast Cancer Benefit Car, Bike and Truck Show will be at Fordeley Music & amp; Instrument Repair on July 6.
Parking for more than 500 vehicles is available along Mahoning Avenue in business parking lots.
The first 100 vehicles receive dash plaques. More than 300 trophies will be awarded.
Six local bands will perform.
Registration is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with awards at 6 p.m.
Entry fee is $10 on the day of the show and $5 if preregistered by July 5.

TCTC meeting moves
LORDSTOWN -- The June 26 special meeting of the Trumbull Career and Technical Center has been moved to the Lordstown High School library at 6 p.m.
