Kachureks mark 50th anniversary at Mass, dinner



XAUSTINTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Kachurek of 81 N. Turner Road were honored May 30 at an anniversary Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where the couple are members.
A dinner hosted by family members followed at the Cracker Barrel. A larger celebration is being planned for a later date. The couple also attended a special Mass for anniversary couples at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.
Mr. Kachurek and the former Agnes T. Gromofsky were married May 30, 1953, at St. Matthias Church in Youngstown.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired in 1990 from Commercial Motor Freight and Servi-Clean Industries, both in Youngstown.
His wife is a homemaker.
The couple are the parents of Robert Kachurek of Lyndhurst, Sandra Kachurek-Liptak of Springfield, Diane Szakacs of Warren, Terence Kachurek of Marengo, Patrick Kachurek of Fairborn and Joanne Kachurek of Canfield. Six grandchildren complete their family.
