NOTEBOOK From PNC Park

Wary about being home: Just what the Montreal Expos wanted at the end of one the longest journeys ever by a major league team: yet another makeup doubleheader. The Expos-Pirates game was rained out Tuesday night and will be made up during a 5:05 p.m. doubleheader today -- the 20th and 21st games of a 22-game stretch since they last played in Montreal. Montreal's Livan Hernandez (6-4) will oppose the Pirates' Jeff D'Amico (4-7) in the first game and the Expos' Claudio Vargas (3-3) pitches against Jeff Suppan (5-6) in the second game. This is Montreal's only visit to Pittsburgh, so the rainout could not be made up later this season. The teams are scheduled for a 12:35 p.m. game Thursday, the day before the Expos return to Montreal for the first time since May 25.
