NESHANNOCK TWP. Supervisors award pacts



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Neshannock Township supervisors have awarded contracts for renovations at the township municipal building.
The contracts are:
UKusevich Contracting of Pittsburgh; general contractor; $1,773,000.
UCentral Heating and Plumbing of New Castle; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; $374,933; and plumbing; $213,371.
UMcCurley Electric of New Castle; electric work; $536,858.
Supervisors said at their meeting Wednesday that the work should begin in the next two weeks.
The supervisors will pay for the work with $8 million to be borrowed through the sale of bonds. The $8 million will also pay for various township sewer projects and for renovations to the Hess Sports Complex. Contracts for these projects haven't been awarded yet.
Peter Beaman of Schnader Harrison Segal and Lewis LLP of Pittsburgh was hired as bond counsel, and Nat-City Investments Incorporated of Pittsburgh as the bond underwriter.
Supervisor John DiCola Jr. announced that during the renovations, the township office, and the sewer and zoning offices will be housed at Field Club Commons, 3304 Wilmington Road. The supervisors approved a 10-month lease at a rate of $250 a month for the space at Field Club Commons.
DiCola said that all supervisor meetings would be held at the fire station during construction.
