CAMPBELL COUNCIL | On the agenda

Campbell City Council handled these items Wednesday:
Authorized the director of administration to purchase a police cruiser through the state of Ohio cooperative purchasing program or from another authorized agency if the cost would be lower. One cruiser was wrecked in an accident earlier this year. A 2003 cruiser is temporarily out of commission after it sustained engine damage Friday night when an officer inadvertently drove into deep water.
Amended the city's property maintenance code to allow the director of administration or other designated official to issue citations, complaints or summons against any individual or property owner whose property is in violation of the maintenance code.
Declared payment of $2,200 to All Demolition of Youngstown, a moral obligation, for demolition and removal of all wood and debris at 67 11th St. The house on the property burned, the homeowner had no insurance and the burned-out home posed a significant risk to neighbors who occupied a house less than 5 feet from the debris.
Amended the city's water division regulations so the board of water appeals will consist of three members: the fire chief and two individuals from the community at large. The city health officer had been a member of the three-person board but the city health department was dissolved, leaving a vacancy. Under the amended regulations, the fire chief will fill that vacancy.
