OHIO Governor Bob Taft honors area schools as healthiest in state



Honored schools make health a priority.
Several local schools are among the 103 recognized by Gov. Bob Taft as Governor's Buckeye Best Healthy Schools for excellence in providing a healthy environment for pupils. The awards program is part of the statewide Healthy Ohioans initiative.
The Governor's Buckeye Best program is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Division of the American Cancer Society. It honors schools for making health a priority through school programs or policies promoting good nutrition, physical activity and tobacco prevention.
