Local Caddies: Five area caddies made it into the final round of the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic. Ralph Fabrizio of Youngstown was carrying for Susan Ginter-Brooker, Rocco Cickelli of Squaw Creek caddied for Eva Dahllof, Brian Cook of Cortland caddied for Lori Atsedes, Seth Kessler was with Suzy Whaley and Seth Aubuthon caddied for Liz Early. Other locals who didn't get into the final round were David Kondzich of Warren with Kim Freeman, Mike Dobos of Struthers with Anne Marie Palli, David Cooper of Hubbard with Karen Davies and Larry Lunder of Cortland with Donna Wilkins.
Eagle for Pak: Former Giant Eagle champion Si Re Pak, who finished in a tie for fifth place on Sunday, eagled the par-4, No. 11 hole, which played at 361 yards. She hit a gap-wedge from 115 yards right into the cup.
Former champs: Pak also led a group of four former champions in this year's final field as she finished with 4-under-par 68 for a 206 total, while defending champion Mi Hyun Kim also shot 68 in the final round to finish at 211 and tied with two-time champion Dorothy Delasin, who shot 68 in the final round, while two-time champion Michelle McGann had a final round 73 and finished at 218. Past champions Tammie Green, Beth Daniel and Jackie Gallagher-Smith all failed to make the cut. "Today I felt strong, much better." Kim said. "I feel like I shot well, but my putting was short."
Ohioans in field: Four Ohio golfers played in the final round Sunday with Zanesville's Michele Redman leading the way with a final round 68 and a 209 total, while Kristal Parker-Manzo of Columbus shot 73 and finished at 212, Marianne Morris of Middletown shot 70 and finished at 213, and Barb Mucha of Parma had a final round 74 and finished at 219.
Toughest hole: As it was all three days, the toughest hole was the par-4 17th hole, measuring 412 yards. The hole played the easiest it has in the final round at 3.973 strokes, but for the tournament the average was 4.249. The par-3 15th hole was one of just four holes to play over-par all three days. It played at 3.223 strokes for the week, while the par-4, 18th hole played at 4.182 for the week, while the par-4 10 hole played at 4.151 and the par-4, 3rd hole played at 4.176 for the week. The easiest hole on the course was the par-5 No. 5 hole, which played at 4.737 strokes. It gave up two eagles and 110 birdies and only 31 bogeys. There were three eagles on the par-4 No. 11 hole.
