Authorized the board of control to lease, with option to buy for $1, the former Barrett Cadillac building at 905 Wick Ave. to Quiver Plumbing.Transferred $20,000 in federal money from the Community Development Agency to the park department to pay for cutting high grass at vacant houses.Authorized the board of control to offer a 10-year, 75-percent tax abatement on real and personal property to SSD Distribution System Inc. The health-care products company will invest $730,000 in equipment and a new building at the Ohio Works Industrial park and employ 62 people.Authorized the board of control to buy a Ford Econoline van from the Ohio state cooperative purchasing contract for the Youngstown police department's tactical response team. Cost of the van is not to exceed $19,500.Authorized the installation of a pedestrian-activated traffic signal at Commerce Street and Walnut Avenue, pending legal review and approval by the law department.Authorized the board of control to enter into a letter of arrangement with the auditor of state's office to conduct a special audit of vendor transactions.Authorized the board of control to waive the water and sewer tap-in fees and building permit fees for a home being built at 257 Beachwood Drive in the Beachwood Estates development.
