EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Ante Razov scored two goals and Andy Williams added three assists against his former team to lead the Chicago Fire to a 3-2 victory over the MetroStars on Saturday.
The victory was the third in four games for the Fire (4-2-3, 15 points) and pulled the team within two points of the first place MetroStars (5-3-2, 17 points), who lost for the second straight time.
It marked the first time that MetroStars coach Bob Bradley faced the Fire, which he coached for five years. Bradley won the 1998 MLS Cup title with the club.
Razov scored a goal in each half. The first goal, which came in the 31st minute, was set up by Williams on a perfect give-and-go, hitting Razov in stride.
The shot went through the legs of MetroStars goalkeeper Paul Grafer, who made his first start of the season.
Damani Ralph scored the game's second goal in the 61st minute, successfully eluding two defenders to beat Grafer.
Williams and Razov hooked up one last time, with Williams making a 45-yard pass ahead to Razov, who beat defender Steve Jolley to the ball and knocked in his sixth goal of the season.
Williams was traded to Chicago right before the start of the season for a 2004 conditional draft pick.
The MetroStars finally broke through in the 83rd minute when reserve forward Jason LeBlanc scored his first goal of the season.
Armando Guevara closed out the scoring with a penalty kick in the final minute of action.
The game included the debut of 16-year-old forward Eddie Gaven, who became the youngest player in franchise history and the second-youngest to play in the league.
D.C. United's Santino Quaranta was two weeks older when he made his debut in 2000.
WUSA
VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Marinette Pichon scored her seventh goal and Melissa Moore made six saves for her second consecutive shutout as the Philadelphia Charge beat San Diego, 2-0.
Philadelphia (3-5-2) opened the scoring in the 12th minute on Spirit defender Rhiannon Tanaka's own goal.
Pichon scored in the 31st minute, taking a pass in the penalty area from Melanie Hoffmann and sending a low, left-footed shot past goalkeeper Jenni Btanam.
San Diego dropped to 3-3-4.
Italian Super Cup
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Champions Cup winner AC Milan and Italian league champion Juventus will play for the Italian Super Cup at Giants Stadium on Aug. 3.
Juventus won its second straight league title earlier this year. Milan topped AS Roma in the Italian Cup final.
The game will be a rematch of the Champions Cup final last month in Manchester, England. Milan won its sixth title in a penalty kick shootout.
It will be the third time the Super Cup will be played outside Italy. Milan defeated Torino in Washington in 1993, and Juventus topped Parma last year in Tripoli, Libya.
