LOWELLVILLE -- Time is running short for the owners of several downtown buildings in disrepair who were given 30 days to make the necessary changes or face prosecution.
Adjudication orders were sent May 30 to the property owners advising them of violations and the repairs needed to bring their buildings into compliance. Some of them have been trying to make those improvements "and we might give them a couple of extra days if they need it," said Don Hall, Mahoning County's chief building official.
Those who have not made progress will be charged.
Most of the buildings whose owners were cited for violations contain businesses, but there are a couple of vacant houses included, too.
