CLASS B Buck pitches in Lazart's victory



STRUTHERS -- Kyle Buck out-dueled Brian Sterling as Lazart improved to 8-5 on the season with a 3-2 win over Becdir in the Class B Baseball League Saturday.
Buck (2-0) allowed two runs on two hits in the first inning and then allowed only four hits the rest of the way. He walked two and had two strikeouts. Lazart tied the game on a two-out, two-run double by Nate Shaw in the third inning and scored the winning run on a double steal by Bob Melnek and Dan Deluca in the fifth, with Melnek scoring.
Sterling (1-2) allowed three runs on just six hits, striking out six and walking three for Becdir (4-8).
Wharmby 2, Astro Falcons 1
Greg Mentrek (2-0) defeated David Yost as Wharmby Sports (7-6) won its third in a row.
Yost (1-2) went the first six innings for the Astro team (8-4). He allowed six hits and just one earned run while striking out five. Chad Baker tripled while Brian Smith and Mentrek had doubles for the Falcons.
Line Drive Academy 6, Livi Steel 2
Line Drive (11-2) took over first place with the win over Livi Steel (10-3). Line Drive scored four in times in the first inning on three hits and three walks. Justin Byler (2-0) finished with three RBIs.
Byler pitched a complete game allowing only two runs.
Roth Bros. 3, Yo. Express 1
Aaron Johnstone took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and finished with a three-hitter for Roth (4-9). He walked two and struck out four. Steve Ripple had two doubles for Roth while Frank Kalinowski had two singles.
Rondinelli 12, Yo. Propane 4
Rondinelli (11-3) pounded out fourteen hits, led by Gabe McKee had four hits including three doubles.
Mike DeNiro, Greg Rohan and Ryan Hallapy had two hits each. For Propane (0-13), Steve Lump had three hits.
