Today is Flag Day. In observance, ceremonies were planned at various locations around the Valley, including this one Friday at the Sharon, Pa., Municipal Building. Among those attending were Maurice Garrett, 82, far left, of Mercer, a World War II veteran and member of VFW Post 6233, and his granddaughter, Rebecca Inman, 5, also of Mercer. Above, Anthony Cashier, left, a member of American Legion Post 299, and Ed Lake of VFW Post 1388 fold the flag. At left, the color guard consisted of, from left, Joe Ser, Joe Wiesen, Cashier and Lake. Ser is a member of VFW Post 1388, and Wiesen is a member of American Legion Post 299.
