Columbiana Sport Scene 3, Niles Buckeye 1 -- Corey Channell threw a five-hitter. Ryan Schmidt had a single and a triple.
Struthers Davidson Becker 10, Boardman Boosters 0 -- Jim Farris, Joel Lariccia, and Matt Kotuch each doubled, while Dave Allen added two hits to lead the Struthers offense. Joel Lariccia pitched a complete game yielding only three hits and struck out six. Kyle Redding and Kevin McCrea each hit doubles for Boardman.
Girard F.O.P. 9, Greenville 1 -- Mike Cramer pitched a five-hitter. Tom Williams had two hits, including a triple, while Mike Jennings, Justin Markota and Nick Santisi all had two hits Chance Summers and Ed Foust had two hits each for Greenville.
Girard F.O.P. 5, Howland 1 -- Tom Williams had two hits including a double and Mike Grumley doubled in two runs. Matt Johnson had three hits for Howland.
Pony
Campbell Black 12, Struthers Acordia Insurance 1 -- Marcus Kraynak, Eligio Bonilla, and Brian Groh combined for the pitching victory. Eligio Bonilla also had three hits along with Andrew Woodward. Brian Groh added two hits. For Struthers, Dennis Walton was 2-for-2.
Boardman R & amp; J Trucking 12, Austintown Armstrong Cable 5 -- Mark Carrocce went the distance, allowing five hits while striking out eight. Eddie Rohan was 3-for-4 with a home run while Dan McCarthy and Josh Gardner were 2-for-4.
Boardman R & amp; J Trucking 6, Salem Smile Wright 4 -- Pitchers Michael Keller, Geoff Marple, and Mark Carrocce combined for the win. Geoff Marple and Eddie Rohan were 2-for-3 for Boardman while Zach Carlisle was 2-for-3 for Salem.
Columbiana American Legion 8, Greenwood Chevy 7 -- Josh Weikart scored three runs including the game-winner in the eighth inning.
Struthers Gridiron 10, Campbell Red 5 -- Randall Vecchio and Aaron Young combined to scatter four hits striking out 11. Aaron Young ripped a solo home run, while Dave Kriebel and Dan Mathews each singled and doubled. Mike Barone had three singles Randall Vecchio and Jim Ritter each had a pair of singles. Matt Urill doubled for Campbell.
Salem Smile Wright 3, Poland Campbell Electric 2 -- Joshua Dankovich of Salem worked four innings allowed two hits and struck out two. Sean McKee worked three innings allowed two hits and struck out one and he also hit a triple and single. Zach Carlisle also had two hits.
Babe Ruth (13s)
Line Drive -- In the Muskingum Valley Baseball Association Babe Ruth Tournament in Dresden, Ohio, Line Drive went 4-0. Line Drive defeated Tri Valley 10-3. Mike Popio and Dan Kubala each had three hits. Kubala had three RBIs and Mike Lower had two. Line Drive then defeated Licking Valley 3-1. Popio pitched a complete game four-hitter. Eric Polen had two RBIs. Line Drive then defeated River View 2-1. Kubala pitched a complete game two-hitter and Joe Strawinski had two hits. Line Drive finished by beating Tri Valley 9-1. Strawinski and Kevin Mills combined for a four-hitter.
Line Drive 12, Rondinelli 2 -- Line Drive scored 12 runs on 10 hits. Pitching a complete game for Line Drive was Tyler Amendola. Joe Strawinski and Mike Popio each had three hits. Scott Smith had two RBIs. Andrew Grzebieniak had two hits for Rondinelli.
SOFTBALL
Valley Sting Purple -- 14U team (42-2) finished second in the 24-team Compuware Classic in Detroit. Victories came against Michigan Thunder 9-0, Ohio Blue Ice 13-1, Downers Grove (Ill.) Thrill, Pittsburgh Power, Beaver County Hornets 6-2, and Compuware 10-6. Valley Sting lost to Pittsburgh Spirit 11-3 in the championship game. Markie Pozzuto pitched a no-hitter against Michigan Thunder and combined with Trisha Dreslinski for a no-hitter against Downers Grove Thrill. Amber Adley and Dreslinski had three hits against Michigan Thunder; Allie Patton, Chlesea Butler, Dreslinski, Adley and Caitlyn Youngs all had two against Ohio Ice Blue. Kari Thompson had three hits and Pozzuto had two against Downers Grove Thrill. Patton, Youngs and Thompson had two hits each against Pittsburgh Power. Pozzutto had three hits and Amy Downs had two against Beaver County Hornets. Ashley Conger had three hits and Adley had two against Compuware.

Boardman Spartan Chevy 10, Poland Springfield Grille 0 -- Justine Cullen threw a one-hitter. Danielle Burin, Sarah Smith and Marissa Cercone each had two hits.
