ARTIFACTS SHOWS
XMahoning Valley Archaeological Society will hold a show of legally obtained prehistoric Indian artifacts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Operating Engineers Hall, 291 McClurg Road, Boardman. The event is free to the public. There will be a professional evaluation of articles submitted by the public. CRAFT SHOWS
XA limited number of tables are available for crafters interested in participating in a Fireman's Follies event to be sponsored by Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary beginning at 11 a.m. Aug. 24 at the Ruritan Hall, state Route 172, Guilford Lake. FESTIVALS
XSt. Ambrose Church will hold its 44th annual Chicken Dinner Festival the weekend of June 28 and 29 at the church grounds, 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville. On June 28, chicken dinners will be sold from 3 to 8 p.m. and the rock band, Barnstorm, will play that night. On June 29, dinners will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Magician Bill Bishop will entertain children at 1 p.m. that day. Dinners will cost $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. Takeouts will be available. The event also includes a Chinese auction, bingo, and games for children and adults. There will be raffles with the top prize of $1,000 and also raffles for afghans and a handmade quilt. For information call (330) 527-4105.
FUND-RAISERS
XThe youth group of First Covenant Church, 5210 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will sponsor a free car wash from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Rain date will be June 28.
SALES
XChristian Education Committee of Liberty Presbyterian Church, 1451 Churchill-Hubbard Road, is holding a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Items will include kitchen items, small appliances, chairs, tables, lamps, plants, clothing, shoes and purses, and pizza and drinks will be available. Proceeds will go toward Sunday school materials and summer camp. Items not sold will be donated to other missions.
XVFW Triangle Post 2799 and auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will sponsor a flea market from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 28. Outside space may be rented for $5 and a table and space under the pavilion will be $10. For information call (330) 542-9928.
