Stoops family directs Mooney football camp
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Cardinal Mooney Football Camp of Champions returns for a second straight year with several major college coaches headlining the instruction staff.
Again, University of Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops will be on hand at the camp at Cardinal Mooney High School, June 30 and July 1.
Another camp coach from Oklahoma's staff will be Mike Stoops, the Sooners' defensive coordinator and also Bob's brother.
Another brother scheduled to appear again will be Mark Stoops, the defensive backs coach at the University of Miami.
Also returning is Mark Pelini, defensive coordinator at the University of Nebraska, while Ohio State University defensive coordinator Mark Dantonio will be new to this year's production.
Mooney's coaching staff, including Ron Stoops Jr., will be working the camp, limited to youth entering grades 4 to 9.
Ron Stoops Jr.'s uncle, former YSU defensive line coach Bob Stoops, also will be instructing.
Cost of the camp, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., is $45.
