Art show of Ohio scenes
SALEM -- "The Land We Call Ohio," a collection of oil paintings that depict scenes in Ohio's 88 counties, will be displayed from Aug. 14 to 25 at Salem Community Center. The show was organized by the Ohio Plein Air Society and the Ohio Historical Society as a component of the state's bicentennial observances.
Artist Richard Canfield painted all three local scenes -- Lanterman's Mill in Mill Creek Park; the Trumbull County Courthouse in downtown Warren; and the Cherry Valley Coke Ovens in Leetonia.
The exhibit will be shown in other regions of the state before each piece is sold at auction Dec. 6, Canfield said.
