Florida State report calls for changes

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State University will release a report today that, in part, assesses how athletic department officials responded last summer to an allegation that Seminoles quarterback Adrian McPherson gambled.
The report, authored by FSU Inspector General David Coury at the request of President T.K. Wetherell, will be distributed to members of FSU's board of trustees, who are meeting today in Tallahassee.
The trustees also will receive copies of a review of the athletic department's organizational structure prepared by MGT of America, a Tallahassee-based consulting firm.
Wetherell wouldn't discuss any of the reports' specific findings or recommendations Thursday. "They are factual reports done by people who are not influenced by the institution, and I hope they will put things into perspective," he said.
Quoting a source familiar with the MGT of America report, The Associated Press said it calls "for sweeping changes in the athletic department and a shakeup of the school's athletic board."
The source also told AP that some university officials will be reprimanded as a result of the review.
