SHARON SPEEDWAY Local drivers ready to resume races
They've been idled for two weeks by guests and weather.
HARTFORD -- Last week's rainout and the previous week's World of Outlaws event have kept local drivers from racing at Sharon Speedway for two weeks.
This Saturday, during Coy Brothers Trucking Night, the racers in Sharon's four divisions -- Sunburst Environmental Sprints, Gibson-Governor Insurance Modifieds, Coy Brothers Trucking E-mods and City Disposal Services Pure Stocks -- will re-ignite their on-track rivalries.
The fiercest rivalries in the Sunburst Environmental Sprint division are between division points leader Ed Lynch Jr., Jarod Larson in second place and Chad Hill in third.
In the Gibson-Governor Insurance Modified division, Jim Rasey leads Del Rougeux and Lou Blaney in the overall point battle.
The battle in the Coy Brothers Trucking E-Mod division is raging between point leader Carl McKinney, Richard Stiffler and Jeff Johnson; while in the City Disposal Services Pure Stock division, Russ Kapalin is leading the charge, with Bill Hanna and Raymond Yuran turning up the heat.
