Scenic train ride connects Akron and Canton

PENINSULA -- Tickets will go on sale Monday for Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad trips between Akron and Canton, CVSR announced.
Trips will run between Akron Northside Station in downtown Akron and the new Canton Lincoln Highway Station in downtown Canton.
Regular service is scheduled to begin July 5 and run every weekend through Aug. 24. Trips will depart from Northside Station at 9 a.m. with two complete round trips on each running day.
Passengers boarding in Akron may take the 31/2-hour scenic ride twice each day or choose the 41/2-hour layover in Canton. During the layover, passengers may visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame, McKinley Museum and Monument, Canton Museum of Art and other attractions. Admission to all attractions is not included in the train ticket price.
Passengers boarding in Canton will have the opportunity to take the scenic ride to Akron and back once each day. Scheduling does not permit Canton riders to get off the train to visit Akron sites and return by train that same day. For those riders, the Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) will provide riders service to sites with a bus ride back to Canton.
Tickets for the excursions are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $12 for children ages 3-12 for the trip with a layover, and $11 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for children ages 3-12 for the 31/2-hour scenic trip.
