BOARDMAN -- Project Opportunity, the adult literacy program in the Mahoning Valley, is having its annual reunion for Laubach tutors from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 24 at the Boardman Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave. At the event, staff thank tutors for their work, and tutors exchange ideas on working with students. Center offers workshops
LIBERTY -- Creative Resource Office Support Services, a nonprofit resource center, offers a one-day seminar June 28 at the Comfort Inn, 4055 Belmont Ave. The first workshop, from 9 a.m. to noon, is about faith-based initiatives. The topics for the second session, from 1 to 4 p.m., relate to starting a small business beyond the basics. The cost for the each session is $25 per person; the cost for both $35. Creative-writing class
WARREN -- YWCA of Warren is offering a creative-writing class with local author and poet Laura Byrnes. Her creative-writing class, for beginners to published professionals, is from 9 a.m. to noon June 21, at the YWCA, 375 N. Park Ave. Participants are asked to bring paper, pen and originality.
