Keller hopes to end winless doldrums

KNIGHT RIDDER NEWSPAPERS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Jason Keller has remained in the hunt for the NASCAR Busch Series championship, but hasn't been able to get to Victory Lane.
Keller posted four wins and 17 top-five finishes last season but fell short of his first title, which went to Greg Biffle. Through 15 races this year, Keller is winless but sixth in points in a Ford.
"I look at what we did in 2002, and had we not had a couple of mechanical failures and maybe a couple of breaks go our way, we could have easily have won the championship," said Keller, in his ninth season in the series.
Keller's next chance for victory is Saturday in the Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Ky.
Burton to race
Roush Racing will field Winston Cup driver Jeff Burton in the July18 Busch race at New Hampshire in the No. 9 Ford. He won five times in 14 starts last season with that team. This will be his first start of 2003.
Roush Racing also suspended operation of its other Busch series team, because of sponsorship problems on the No. 60 car driven by Stanton Barrett.
Biffle, who won the championship last season with that team, moved with his sponsor to Winston Cup this season.
