Barnhisel House tours
GIRARD -- The Girard Historical Society will open the Barnhisel House on State Street for tours beginning this weekend. The house, considered the oldest in Girard, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays of each month through December. Donations will be accepted to continue renovations at the home. To schedule a group tour, call (330) 545-3893.
Naturalized citizens
YOUNGSTOWN -- Six people were naturalized as new United States citizens during a ceremony Thursday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Judge Jack Durkin presided over the ceremony. The new citizens are Leila Abdul-Ahad Diab, Nancy Diab and Rita Joseph Cantwell, all from Lebanon; Irene Marie Metcalf from Poland; Basem Mohammed Al Amishat from Jordan; and Anne McIvor Wells from the United Kingdom.
