Columbiana Sport Scene 7, Canfield Heaven Scent 2 -- Tom DeChellis' two hits included a homer. He also walked and scored three runs. Corey Channel tossed a four-hitter and walked two. Pat Sposato had two hits. For Canfield, Alec Roman homered.
Austintown Artistic Images 19, Canfield Frederick Dodge 17 -- Joe Burnich's four hits included three doubles. Nick Ritchie and Todd Mounce each had three hits, while Aric Allen and Tom DeToro drove in three runs apiece. For Canfield, Damon Buente, Jake Mosure and Joshua Summer had two hits each.
NEO Continental COLT (ages 15-17)
Girard FOP 9, Howland 8 -- Tim Britt had a bases-loaded double for three RBIs, Mike Grumley had a double and single and three RBIs and Steve Cornell ripped a pair of doubles for Girard FOP. Tom Williams picked up the win in relief. For Howland, John Nicholas had three singles, while John Aminio doubled and singled.
Babe Ruth (Age 13)
Line Drive 10, Astros 5 -- Tyler Amendola threw six innings and Dean Porter pitched one for Line Drive, which had 12 hits. Mike Popio and Eric Polen each had two hits and two RBIs. Dan Kubala also had two hits, while Mike Lower, Joe Blinsky and Joe Strawinski added RBIs. Astros had eight hits with Mark Turnbull getting three and Mark Lapikas two. Pitcher Dom Drummond went 22/3 innings followed by Jay Leeworthy over 41/3 innings.
