Bicycle safety program is set in Columbiana
COLUMBIANA -- Columbiana Auxiliary Police will conduct a bike safety program at 10 a.m. Saturday in the football field parking lot at Firestone Park.
The event includes free bicycle licenses, helmets and a drawing for two bicycles.
Police had planned the program for last week, but canceled it because of rain.
City participants will receive free bike licenses, and all participants will receive a certificate, he said.
At the beginning of the program, participants will watch a video on bicycle safety. Auxiliary officers will then inspect cyclists' bikes to see if tires, brakes, chains, etc. are in working order.
The officers will ensure bikes are safe to ride before participants work their way through the twists and turns of the rodeo course.
