Township trustees took the following action Monday night:
Approved spending $25,000 for engineering of a waterline along Gypsy Lane, from Belmont Avenue west to the township limits. Township Administrator Patrick J. Ungaro said construction of the line is estimated at $100,000. State Issue 2 money may be available for the project or the cost could be shared with the city of Youngstown.
Approved $146,000 for engineering of a sanitary sewer line from Belmont Avenue and Tibbetts-Wick Road west toward state Route 11. The total $2.5 million will be designed to provide sewers to low- and moderate-income homes and future development. Ungaro said the township may qualify for community development block grant funds because of the income level of the residents.
Increased the salary of Mary Louise Gardner, telecommunications officer, by 4 percent to $15.55 hourly.
Increased the salary of Elwood Gilbert, maintenance department, by $1 hourly to $16.
Increased the yearly salary of Timothy Monroe, road superintendent, by 7 percent to $50,243.
Increased the yearly salary of James Rodway, zoning inspector, by 5 percent to $45,864.
Increased the salary of June Smallwood, parks and special projects coordinator, by $1 hourly to $12.74.
Increased the salary of Martha Weirick, administrative assistant, by $1 hourly to $14.48.
