Grange Fair board seeks units for parade

MERCER, Pa. -- The Mercer County Grange Fair board is looking for a lot of good men. And for a lot of good women and children.
The fair board has announced it is looking for units to march in the fair parade July 8. Parade participants can be almost anyone who wants to put a float together, said Ruth Fulton, fair board member.
"We need marching bands, baton groups, floats, firetrucks, tractors, rescue squads, horses or horse groups, ambulance services, buses and political units," she said.
The parade lineup begins at 5:30 p.m. July 8 near the Mercer United Methodist Church on East Butler Street, Fulton said. Starting time is 7 p.m.
Units can be registered at the lineup site from 5:30 p.m. till start time on parade day, or in advance by calling Fulton at (724) 588-7212 after 6 p.m. any weekday before the parade.
Prizes will be awarded after the parade.
