NEW YORK -- Jamie Moyer became the majors' first 10-game winner. Ichiro Suzuki got four hits in the opener as Freddy Garcia (6-6) finished his first complete game since May 19, 2002. Moyer (10-2) blanked the Mets on two hits for seven innings, winning his seventh straight start. Shigetoshi Hasegawa and Jeff Nelson finished the three-hitter.

PHILADELPHIA -- Jim Thome and Bobby Abreu each homered and drove in two runs for Philadelphia. Kevin Millwood pitched seven innings in the opener and Pat Burrell hit a three-run homer to help the Phillies snap a four-game losing streak. Eric Chavez hit his 11th homer for the A's.
Cubs 8, Yankees 7
CHICAGO -- Sammy Sosa got his 2,000th career hit, Mark Prior struck out 10 in six innings and Moises Alou and Ramon Martinez homered for Chicago. Sosa hit an RBI single in the seventh inning to put the Cubs ahead 8-3. Prior (7-2) allowed three runs and seven hits, including Jason Giambi's 15th homer and Raul Mondesi's 11th.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Brad Wilkerson's second run-scoring double broke a tie in the eighth inning as Montreal sent Texas to its ninth straight loss. Carl Everett and Juan Gonzalez hit consecutive homers for Texas. Michael Barrett broke an 0-for-19 stretch with a solo homer for the Expos, who finished their second Puerto Rican homestand with four straight wins.

MIAMI -- Adam Kennedy and Garret Anderson hit run-scoring singles in a three-run fifth as Anaheim took advantage of an error by first baseman Derrek Lee to rally from a four-run deficit. Ramon Ortiz (6-5) won his second straight start after going 0-3 in his previous five. Ben Weber, Brandon Donnelly and Troy Percival combined for three innings of hitless relief. Percival, who came off the disabled list Saturday, pitched a scoreless ninth for his eighth save in nine chances.

MILWAUKEE -- Kevin Millar homered twice and drove in four runs, backing a strong outing by Derek Lowe (6-3). Todd Walker added a two-run double for the Red Sox, who became the latest team to tee off against struggling lefty Glendon Rusch (1-9). Millar's second career multi-homer game gave him 10 homers this season.

HOUSTON -- Tim Redding combined with two relievers on a three-hitter as Houston matched its longest winning streak of the season at seven games. Redding (4-4) allowed one run and two hits in seven innings, struck out five and walked one, retiring his final 18 batters. He has won three straight starts. Octavio Dotel pitched the eighth and Billy Wagner finished with a one-hit ninth for his team-record 200th save.

ST. LOUIS -- Scott Rolen hit a tie-breaking grand slam and Jim Edmonds drove in three runs on two homers. Rolen went 4-for-5, his fifth career four-hit game, as St. Louis finished with 18 hits. Edmonds had three hits, a walk and three runs scored. Tony Batista homered and drove in four runs for the Orioles, who had 16 hits. Baltimore has lost five of six.

DENVER -- Chris Stynes drove in three runs, Larry Walker and Charles Johnson each had two RBIs and Colorado avoided a three-game sweep. Scott Elarton (3-1) won his third consecutive start for the first time since Aug. 16-27, 2000. Elarton went five innings, allowing 11 hits and six runs. Michael Tucker had a three-run homer and Aaron Guiel added a solo shot for the Royals.

CINCINNATI -- Kelvim Escobar pitched a four-hitter for his third career shutout and drove in a run with his first hit, leading Toronto. The Reds had an unannounced visitor -- hits king Pete Rose watched the first couple innings from a seat behind home plate -- but were shut out for the first time. Rose attended his first game at Great American Ball Park, which was delayed 3 hours, 5 minutes by rain.
White Sox 10, Dodgers 3
LOS ANGELES -- Frank Thomas hit a two-run homer and Tony Graffanino had a two-run double during a five-run fifth inning for Chicago. Esteban Loaiza (9-2) allowed three runs and seven hits in seven innings, striking out nine and walking none to improve to 5-0 on the road.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Pinch-hitter Edgardo Alfonzo had a tie-breaking double with two outs in the eighth inning as San Francisco rallied to complete a three-game sweep. Rich Aurilia hit an RBI double to tie it at 6, and Alfonzo's double gave San Francisco its first lead of the game.
Padres 9, Twins 4
SAN DIEGO -- Mark Loretta had four hits, including a go-ahead, two-run single in the eighth inning, as San Diego rallied past Minnesota. Ryan Klesko and Brian Buchanan each added a two-run homer to complete a six-run outburst in the eighth against LaTroy Hawkins (4-1) and Mike Nakamura. The comeback ended a string of late-inning failures for San Diego's Brian Lawrence (4-7), who lost the lead in the ninth inning in each of his previous two starts. He left after eight innings this time, trailing 4-3 after allowing a tie-breaking homer by Torii Hunter in the eighth.
