AREA SANDLOTS Livi Steel outslugs Propane in Class B



Matt Raiti tossed a one-hit shutout for Bud's in Class AA.
STRUTHERS -- Livi Steel scored nine runs in the seventh inning to snap a tie and defeat Youngstown Propane 18-11 in Class B action Sunday at Cene Park.
Ryan Jones had four of Livi Steel's 21 hits and four RBIs, while Joe Skocik, Matt Geramita and Doug Brown added three hits each. Jones also got the win.
For Youngstown Propane, Eric Evans had three hits, while Chris Berkley and Steve Lumpp added two each.
Becdir 13, Roth Brothers 3
Becdir scored 10 runs in the third inning to break away from Roth Brothers.
Shaun McDonald led the Becdir attack with two hits and three RBIs, while Mike Dubos added a double and three RBIs.
Brian Sterling got the win.
Line Drive Academy 4, Wharmby Sports 2
John Mang allowed two runs on six hits while striking out five in leading Line Drive Academy to victory.
Chris Tremblay went 3-for-3 for the winners, while Dan Ford doubled twice and had three RBIs and John Zizzo singled twice.
Class AA
Bud's 2, Roth Brothers 0
Matt Raiti tossed a one-hit shutout as Bud's blanked Roth Brothers in Class AA action at Oakland Field. Raiti struck out six and walked four in improving his record to 2-0.
Kinsey Henderson had two hits and scored both runs for the winners.
In taking the loss, Paul Kello allowed one earned run on two hits for Roth Brothers. Rick Gozur had the team's only hit.
Salem Pathology 4, Jolly Joe's 1
Mark Thomas allowed one run on six hits, striking out seven, for Salem Pathology.
Kyle Sobecki had two hits and Frank Santore drove in two runs for the winners.
Saturday's games
Class B
Rondinelli 10, Astro Falcons 7
Rondinelli used a 15-hit attack to stay undefeated at 8-0.
Gabe McKee had three hits, while Gary Bucaren, Lee Keck, Mike DeNiro, Ryan Hallapy and Scott Bender added two hits each. Bucaren had three RBIs.
Reid Lamport got the win in relief, while McKee picked up the save.
For Astro Falcons, Adam Wigley and Dan Bertolini had two hits each.
Line Drive 16, Roth 3
Line Drive scored six times in the fifth and sixth innings to put away Roth.
Chris Tremblay had three hits, while John Zizzo, Dan Ford, Marc Sikora, Vasili Pahoulis and Matt Madrid had two hits each in the 20-hit attack.
Jake Wargacki went the first five innings for the win, allowing one earned run.
For Roth Brothers, Steve Ripple had a double.
Wharmby Sports 8,Youngstown Express 2
Pat Oman had three doubles and two RBIs for Wharmby.
Rudy Pekarovic had a double and a single, while Joel Basta had two hits and picked up the save with two scoreless innings of relief.
Brian Smith added a triple.
For the Express, D.J. Yorkley had three hits, including a double, and Jacob Wycoff had a triple. John Burnich took the loss, allowing five runs, of which only two were earned.
