Amy Overman, Joseph Stephens to wed Aug. 9

XPOLAND -- The engagement of Amy Overman, 5712 Phillips Ave., Pittsburgh, and John David Stephens, 4203 Stanley St., Pittsburgh, is being announced by the bride-elect's mother, Nancy Walsh Overman, 2520 Shetland Lane.
Parents of the future groom are Joseph and Joan Stephens, 27 Dogwood Trail, Batesville, Ind.
Miss Overman, also a daughter of David Overman of Conneautville, Pa., earned a bachelor's degree in neuroscience at Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa., and a master's in cognitive psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, where she is pursuing her doctorate.
Her fiance holds a bachelor's degree in Germanic studies from Indiana University at Bloomington, Ind., and is attending Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where he is pursuing a doctorate.
Allegheny Center Alliance Church has been chosen for the couple's 4 p.m. Aug. 9 wedding, and a reception will be held that evening at The Great Hall, both in Pittsburgh.
